When I transferred to SJSU, I was originally a Graphic Design major. This was, of course, after switching my major twice previously from Chemistry to Architecture, then to Graphic Design.
It was hard. I didn't like being so harshly judged during critiques and a lot of the things I designed... I hated. So as a failed graphic designer, making albums is bittersweet. On one hand I think "why am I making this?! I'm not a designer!" and on the other hand, I think "I can do this. I know which images of mine are the best and how to make them look good in relation to each other." Luckily, I stick with the latter sentiment.
I spend about two weeks designing each album and perfecting the spreads. The result is something I love and my clients appreciate. I take my time and this way I don't get overwhelmed.
Matt and Sara's album was so much fun to design. They had a wonderful color scheme that made color choices easy. The soft details of their wedding were complimented easily by the rounded corners I love to utilize in my album designs. I had it printed on watercolor textured paper with in a UV protective coating.
Here are the results.
7"x10" hand-designed wedding albums start at $360.
