Anyone who has been to Monterey, California soon realizes it's one of the most beautiful places in California. There are tons of great places to eat, loads of things to do there, and everyone is so friendly. So when Sara and Matt told me they wanted to have their engagement session along Cannery Row, I was incredibly excited! Matt and Sara met at Cal State Monterey Bay. She teaches high school math, and he is into everything from engineering automated underwater and aerial camera systems to organic gardening. They are so much fun to be around. Matt is constantly cracking jokes and Sara has a sharp wit. You spend five minutes with them and you know how much they love each other.
My first task, however, was to get some portraits of their dogs done! Jake is a Pomeranian mix and he's very handsome. Molly is a spunky chihuahua. They are both incredibly friendly and well-behaved pups!
We then headed to a forest area around Fort Ord that was very beautiful on this overcast day.
After a few photos in the forest, we headed to Cannery Row. We stopped by Wave Street Studios to see where there ceremony will be held. It's an adorable and very "zen" little venue and I'm excited to shoot their wedding here. They have a little cat that hangs out there! He was super friendly and has obviously modeled before.
Next stop was Starbucks for a quick caffeine boost before we headed to the aquarium.
A short stroll down Cannery Row...
And some kissing by the waves.
And we finally got to the Monterey Bay Aquarium! I was so excited. You have no idea. I hadn't been here since I was a teenager and sea life is so mesmerizing. I had a blast.
Then it was time for a snack at Austino's Patisserie before we saw the jellyfish.
I was so excited...
It was such an incredible day. Thank you for letting me enjoy the afternoon with you, Matt and Sara! I had a wonderful time. I can't WAIT for the wedding.
